About Us

​Andras Balazsy is an attorney, author, coach and trainer. He lived in the United States for 20 years and was a debater at George Mason University. After his return to Hungary, he has coached competitive debate at the Milestone Institute in Budapest for 3 years before founding the Hungarian Multirole Debate Academy. He has coached the last 3 Team Hungary WSDC teams as well as the Novice and ESL champion team of Lili Törőcsik and Julianna Balázs at Oxford Schools in 2021 and 2022, respectively. Coaching sessions are highly interactive training events that contribute to the development of critical thinking skills. All sessions are in English and require knowledge of the language at a level where an English language newspaper can be read and understood by the student. We debate at nearly every session, focusing on the most frequent and useful motions at prestigious international debate tournaments.

In cooperation with many former and current debaters, the Academy came into being as a shared vision of its founding members in order to democratize and enable debate throughout Hungary.
