Oxford Schools, ICYD, World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC)

Oxford Schools

​Oxford Schools is the world's largest and most prestigious debate competition in the British parliamentary format. To qualify for the Oxford Schools final, a team must be in the top four in the national qualifying round.

The final will take place on 11 March 2023 and will be hosted by the Oxford Union in Oxford, UK.

World Schools Debating Championship


The WSDC is the world's most prestigious debating championship, open only to the best national teams from participating countries. Hungarian national team members have to go through a rigorous selection process to make the team. The 2023 qualifying tournament will be held on 11-12 February.

International Competition of Young Debaters (ICYD)

The ICYD is for debaters that are under 16 years of age as of August 31, 2003. 2 teams of 2 students, from the same educational institution from Hungary, can earn the privilege of being allowed to attend the Final in Cambridge, UK. The ICYD qualifying round for Hungary will be held on 26 February. More information can be found here.
